Canadians are being warned by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency not to consume Amira Salted Pistachios, Setton Farms Chili Limon Pistachios or Energy Club Roasted and Salted Pistachios because these products may be contaminated with Salmonella. The Pistachio Products have been distributed nationally and there have been no reported illnesses in Canada associated with the consumption of these products.

"CARS" Fleece clog infant and toddler shoes are recalled because the decorative wheels can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children. The shoe is a red plastic moulded clog with fleece lining, designed to resemble a car, sold in infant sizes 4 to 6 and toddler sizes 7 to 11. Approximately 18,000 of the products recalled were distributed to Wal-Mart stores in Canada from September 2008 to February 2009. Consumers should immediately take the shoes away from children and return it to the nearest Wal-Mart store for a full refund.

Simplicity Play Yards are recalled as one or more rails can collapse unexpectedly, posing a fall or entrapment hazard to young kids. About 25,000 Travel Tender Play Yards were sold at Burlington Coat Factory stores in the US and Babiesrus.com, Target.com and Kohls.com from March 2005 through January 2009 for about $100. The recalled products are portable and were sold with a bassinet, changing table and mobile features. The model numbers affected by this recall are 5500DRM, 5500WDS, 5500FEL, 5501FEL, 5502MON, 5520PRO, 5550HAN, 5700MAN, and 5750MIR.

Mothers Choice Kensington Cot manufactured by IGC Dorel Pty Ltd. with the model number ICO16IG01 was recalled last week as some of the slats on the dropside may have weakend over time and may cause the vertical slats in the dropside to separate creating a safety hazard. The crib was sold exclusively through Kmart stores between March 2007 and December 2008. Parents are asked to check if the crib has any loose slats and if so, to stop using the cot immediately.

Another baby recall this week: Zoo Pacifiers manufactured in Spain. About 40,000 pacifiers were sold at supermarkets and pharmacy from December 2002 through March 2009 for about $1.40. This pacifiers failed to meet U.S. Federal safety standards as the nipples can separate from the base, posing a choking hazard to babies. Parents should take the recalled products away from children and contact Healthtex toll free at (866) 348 - 5080 for a refund or exchange.
